The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024. The online application process has started. The CTET 2024 (19th edition) will be held across 136 cities on July 7. The last date for online application is April 2. The exam will be conducted in 20 languages.

The CTET Exam fee for Paper-1 or Paper-2 for the unreserved and OBC categories is 1000 rupees. For both papers, the fee is 1200 rupees. For SC, ST, and disabled candidates, the fee for Paper-1 or Paper-2 is 500 rupees and for both papers, it is 600 rupees.

CTET Exam Qualification and Validity

The CTET 2024 exam, conducted in 20 languages, qualifies candidates for teaching positions in Central Schools, Navodaya Schools, and Army Schools nationwide. Previously, the validity of the CTET certificate was 7 years, requiring candidates to retake the exam after this period. However, this rule has been abolished.

CTET Exam Schedule and Mode

The first shift of the exam will be from 9:30 AM to 12 PM, and the second shift from 2 PM to 4 PM. According to the notification, the CTET exam will be held in approximately 236 centers across 136 cities. Like last time, this year’s exam will also be conducted in offline mode.

For the past two years, the exam was conducted in CBT mode, i.e., online. However, in this year’s January session, the exam was conducted offline in pen-and-paper mode. Requests for changes in the exam city will not be accepted.

CTET Exam Structure

The CTET 2024 exam is divided into two parts, for classes 1 to 5 and classes 6 to 8. CTET Paper-1 is for those who want to become teachers for classes 1 to 5. Paper-II is for those aspiring to teach classes 6 to 8.

CTET Paper one includes 150 questions worth 150 marks, covering Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies, each section having 30 questions.

Similarly, CTET Paper-2 will also have 150 questions worth 150 marks, including questions related to Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Maths & Science, and Social Science. Check informational Bulletin.
